Stand album turns 14 years old!

January 24, 2006. That was the release date for Avalon's album, "Stand," which is still one of my personal favorites. I remember being a little under the weather that day. I felt really bad and yes, I admit it, I wanted to stay home from school. LOL I was sixteen years old. My mom made me go to school anyway. Good for her.

I remember asking if we could go to Lifeway after school to get Avalon's new album because back then I was one of those obsessed fans. As justification for this request, I recall saying that if I was well enough to go to school, I could ride down there and buy my favorite artist's new album, on releaseday, like the obsessed fan that I was, and of course it would be way in the back, and the person at the front counter wouldn't be able to find it because it had literally just come out. Good times. Too bad Lifeway has gone out of business.

Yes, I did get the album on releaseday. I cried the first time I heard "Where Joy And Sorrow Meet". Beautiful song! It's hard to believe that was fourteen years ago!
